Former St. Ann site resurrected as apartments

What used to be the stomping grounds of Catholic school kids is being transformed into a $5.1 million apartment complex just southwest of downtown Omaha.

An underground garage has replaced the cafeteria that once fed St. Ann parishioners.

A clock tower soon will be ticking on the spot of the old church steeple at 24th Street and Poppleton Avenue.

By the start of next year, the four-level Columbus Park Apartments should be ready for tenants, said Rob Woodling of Omaha-based Foundations Development LLC.
